What are ICCP Titanium Anodes?
ICCP titanium anodes are used for impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems also referred to as mixed metal oxide (MMO) anodes. ICCP titanium anodes generally consist of electrocatalytic noble precious metal coating on titanium substrates that meets the ASTM standard and is fabricated by the thermal decomposition method. This electrocatalytic-activated coating is formulated primarily of platinum group metals such as iridium tantalum (IrO2 Ta2O5), platinum, etc. The coatings are applied by spraying or dipping aqueous coating salts of the metals onto an acid etch-cleaned titanium substrate and heating to several hundred degrees Celsius.
