MMO Ribbon Anodes and Titanium Conductor Bar

The MMO Ribbon Anode consists of mixed precious metal oxides that are sintered to the surface of titanium substrate to have electro catalytic characteristics. This mixed metal oxide anodes have an extremely low consumption rate, the titanium substrate remains constant throughout the design life of the anode. It can be used in fresh water, brackish water, seawater, coke, or sand environment in cathodic protection application with long operating life.

UTron manufactures MMO ribbon anodes by using pure titanium substrate, which meets ASTM B265 in Grade 1 or Grade 2 standards, coated with precious mixed metal oxides IrO2/Ta2O5 for a maximum current density of 17 mA/m. They can be used in sands with various levels of moisture and salt contents, and can be designed to provide effective protection for 50 years and more. Strict quality procedures are followed throughout the coating process to ensure proper adhesion and loading. The coating is strictly following Tape test as per ASTM D 3359 -97 and NACE 0294 - 2007 9 months test - cell voltage and single electrode potential S.E.P..The MMO ribbon anode is proven to perform high quality.

Titanium conductor bar is joined to MMO ribbon anodes by spot welding to form a grid pattern under the tank which provides even distribution of current. They are applied in cathodic protection of above ground storage tank bottoms and in concrete structures.
