Lead Dioxide Coated Titanium Anodes Mesh for Removal of Refractory Organics

Lead dioxide coated titanium anodes are the base metal anodes, whose cost is lower than traditional noble metal electrodes, like mixed metal oxide (MMO) anodes and platinized titanium anodes. Lead dioxide coated titanium anode is always the electrochemical corrosion occurred on lead oxide coatings at work, which can keep a lower anode corrosion rate, therefore, the anode has a relatively long service life. The corrosion mechanism of the titanium base lead dioxide anode and the lead anode is different. When a lead anode is used in the sulfuric acid system, its surface generates a layer of lead oxide thin film which can slow the corrosion of the anode. but the film is loose, especially used in the electrolyte containing a small amount of chloride ion, the film is more prone to be punctured, eroded, and come off; the exposed surface of the lead in the deep layer continues to be oxidated and form a new film, again punctured, cycling in this way, speeding up the anode corrosion.
