MMO anodes are manufactured using a titanium substrate, coated with Mixed Metal Oxide coating consisting of IRO2 /Ta2O3, and are suitable for use in all cathodic protection applications. They are ideally suited for cathodic protection applications. The mixed metal oxide coating is sintered to the titanium substrate, providing a lightweight, durable anode. MMO anodes are suitable for the broadest range of cathodic protection applications for the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection of reinforced concrete. The consumption rate of the mixed metal oxide coating is measured in milligrams per ampere year. This low mass consumption rate combined with the unmatched strength-to-weight ratio for the titanium substrate results in unique advantages.
