MMO Coated Titanium Anodes for O2 Evolution

Mixed oxide catalysts have played an important role in oxygen evolution in aqueous solutions for various applications such as industrial electrolysis, electroplating, and secondary batteries. One of the most commercially used oxygen evolution catalysts is an iridium oxide-tantalum oxide system, which is usually prepared on a titanium substrate by the thermal decomposition method. The iridium oxide-tantalum oxide coated titanium electrode has excellent catalytic properties for oxygen evolution in acidic solutions, and its long lifetime has been proven for applications in electro galvanizing and electrowinning lines.
